Awakening has certainly kept me awake!  I read the pre-short story Inklings last night then immediately ordered the trilogy and dove in....only fatigue is keeping me from delving into the next book. It’s riveting. Brilliant audience-captivating, seamless writing.

(Book 1) I read the pre-short story Inklings last night then immediately ordered the trilogy and dove in. Today I have finished Awakening, and only fatigue is keeping me from delving into the next book. It’s riveting. The two girls are so intriguing in their captivity and how they’re trying to deal with their lives. And the overlaying threats that hang over them has me twitchy and fingernail biting. Brilliant audience -captivating, seamless writing. Can’t wait to get to the next book.

(Book 1) This is book one of the trilogy, Awake as a Stranger. And this book does not stand alone. It leaves many unanswered questions. The three books need to be read to get the full story. The book follows the lives to two women, Treaz (pronounced like trees) and Omani. Treaz is a transitioner. She jumps bodies and inhabits other people for a certain period. Omani is trapped in a compound run by her uncle. The compound is in Switzerland. This is a fascinating book. It’s told completely from the point of view of those two women. Therefore, the reader learns about why they are in the situations they are in as the two characters learn. The book is well written. I have no complaints other than the structure. So much is left open that reading the next book is a requirement. If you’re looking for something different, this is definitely it. And I suggest you read the prequel novella.

(Book 1) Diane is a new author to me and so is this genre. I read this book in one go, it is very intriguing. The characters are easy to like, well most of them. I really enjoyed reading about the differing reflections of people in this world, from those who have everything, to those who only have the clothes they are wearing. For me they are a true reflection of our society. Mix them with a good narrative and story and you will definitely not see the twists and turns coming.

(Book 2) Still stuck working for the Vanguard company, Treaz desperately tries to see her grandmother, only to discover there are strict rules she mist comply as a Transitioner. It’s the start off many startlingly revealations Treaz discovers as they haunting truth behind her mother’s mental illness become clear. Treaz isn’t alone in desiring to bring them Vanguard to their knees. For Omani, she hasn’t stopped trying working out how to get her freedom, even as it every turn each planet doesn’t work out. She hates her uncle passionately, but it’s a dark, personal secret; Omani feelings toward her uncle will be altered forever. The wondrous and mysterious journey continues, highly recommended.

(Book 1) Right from the beginning, I really enjoyed how the author grabs your attention with introducing Treaz through a very intriguing and mysterious predicament of waking up in someone else’s body. Treaz’s emotional state because of her situation is completely believable and you are left wondering what is happening and why. Each “experience” Treaz goes through a she hopes to finally get back home is both uplifting and memorable. The Pearl Man is brilliantly crafted and deeply a conundrum of personal at the same time. Intertwined with Treaz’s journey is Omani’s story, that just Treaz; is on her own personal journey of self empowering and getting out from under her abusive uncle that won’t allow Omani to determine her own future. Highly recommended.

(Book 1) I really enjoyed this book. The author hooked me in right away, piquing my curiosity with the main character’s initial experience...As a reader, I was compelled by the dual story lines, anxiously waiting for the two to intersect. The author’s writing style is light and easy, making it a quick read. As a former therapist myself, I was especially intrigued by the author’s knowledge of and incorporation of psychological constructs and by applying healthy messaging throughout, she created an upbeat and hopeful experience for the reader. Based on the book titles of the remainder of this trilogy I suspect the road ahead for the two main characters will be fraught with conflict and challenge. I look forward to reading them.
