POSTPONEMENT BOOK REVIEWS

Not my usual, I tend to be a strictly romance reader, but this was a great story. Makes you think. Truly fantastic book!

Wow this book had me hooked. The story line flowed nicely and held my interest from the first chapter to the last. Very often with books I find myself skipping all the boring mundane parts,i.e. What the characters ate for lunch etc. This book had none of that I can honestly say I read it all, I laughed and I cried. This is one book i will keep and read again. A truly wonderful story.

I absolutely loved this book! It was engaging and I just couldn’t put it down. I bet at some time in the future, the story told here may become a reality! Definitely worth the read!

A thought provoking story. I was skeptical given the futuristic aspects of cryogenics. I was unexpectedly swept up.in the story from the beginning and actually ended reading it, in one afternoon, ending it in tears. It has been a long time since I have been so moved emotionally by characters such as these.

I don’t normally read this type of book but the idea interested me . I wasn’t disappointed what a book! It’s fast paced and no filler as you get in some books and it’s such an interesting subject.

Normally, I would not seek out a thriller to read but thought I would give this one a try. It was definitely another page turner from Diane and raised a lot of questions, something I wasn’t really prepared for. Definitely an interesting concept...and ...what if it was possible and available... how would you look at it morally? Good read.

Finished in one day. I was glad Toby went to visit Nora. I wish I was the kind of person she was.

The book moves along well. Lots of personal growth. I really liked the book. I liked the introspection and just the feel of the book.People sometimes do the wrong thing for the right reasons, understanding that there will still be consequences and accepting them.Things in our past often shape our present and future. For good or bad, our experiences change us. We wouldn’t be who we are without those experiences.

I am a mother of 7. I’m in my 40s and despite having alot of potential, I’ve spent my life making mistakes and punishing myself for them. My children are my life and my greatest achievements. My youngest, my precious son, Tyr, should be 3 in two weeks, but, medical mistakes took him from me at 14 weeks old. His death destroyed the life I had and forced me to relearn who I was. His story can be found under the hashtag justice for Tyr on fb. I am also a full time carer to my 21 year old who has multiple disabilities and is in a wheelchair, but, who loves life and is so innocent and happy. I loved this book, at first as a brilliant story... But the end.... It has hit me so hard. Resonated. It’s given me a new direction and shown me how I move to my next stage of healing.

A very well written story which could so easily become part of humanity’s future. It is about parents deciding to have their babies removed from the womb before the actual birth date and then having them ‘kept on ice’ cryogenically frozen until they feel the time is right for them to become parents. Obviously this caused many different issues and this story follows the life of a woman called Nora who works at one of these facilities and how she becomes attached to one little boy in particular. Loved the ending! A great book!

In a future time, this subject could be a reality. Medical advantages in crypto could be used to suspend a body waiting for a cure.

Compelling and engaging the reader to consider more. There is always more than one side to most issues. Being able to speak honestly, but more importantly to listen, is grace. Well done.

The idea of postponing parenthood by placing a newborn into cryo-stasis immediately caught my attention. I won’t go into more detail to prevent spoilers. The book was a great read, and I found the author’s handling of the subject matter to be neutral, especially given the current environment around abortion. The book wasn’t written to address any of those issues. Enough of that discussion. The story takes place in Austin, TX, my hometown. The main character works for a Postponement center and deals with all the ins and outs associated with it. She must juggle all the varying viewpoints daily while not only maintaining calm but also staying true to her own beliefs. This of course places her in a position where she must make an important decision. Will she choose the Company line, side with the parents, follow her own desire? And then what will be the results and fallout of her decision? I thoroughly enjoyed following the story and wondering what would happen next. If you enjoy a great story, I suggest this book. I am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Dresback.

What if you could wait to have a baby until you were ready emotionally and financially, having finished school, advanced your career and enjoyed your youth? This sci-fi novel set in the near future explores that possibility. In this near future, abortion is still available but technology has advanced enough to make cryopreservation a reality. It is now possible at The Postponement Center to have your baby cryopreserved immediately after birth to be “born” when you are ready for it. The moral issues surrounding this process are great with protests at Centers much the same as we have now at abortion clinics. However some good can come of it if a child born with a severe birth defect is preserved until hopefully a cure is available. Nora Collins is a patient liaison at The Postponement Center. Unmarried and childless, she takes her job to heart a little too much, becoming involved with some of the parents outside the Center and with the preserved infants at the Center. The author develops her characters well so that they feel real. The action that picks up in the second half of the book kept me reading late into the night until I finished the book. I enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and informative, full of action, and made me ponder the possibilities of science.

This was a compelling read! I loved it. Nora is an enigma, and the action is pretty continuous. It’s also well written, not full of grammatical errors, easy to read. It’s an intriguing idea, well handled.I recommend this .

This story comes to life with the character descriptions. A suspenseful and adventurous tale of Nora Collins and the choices she makes at the Postponement Center, A well written science fiction story with twists and turns that make this book a page-turner, Diane gives vivid descriptions of her characters that keep you interested in what will happen next.

A wonderful quick read. The balance of drama, suspense, and science fiction is perfect and the concepts are well researched. Postponement is truly an original story and has a feminist heart with an emotional twist.

So I finished this book after meeting Diane. Not only is she an amazing person, her books have a flair and an attitude that make me imagine them as my friends.

My empathy wants to show the characters as my heart goes out to them. There’s so much more I want to say, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

Grab this book and you won’t be sorry about the read. It’ll give you the chance to think about other things when you need a change from reality.
