ROOM FOR ANOTHER BOOK REVIEWS
“What a fantastic story! Diane had an amazing, beautiful story, and her birth mother’s life was heartbreaking, but also gives you hope that you too will make it through the hard things in life. I grew teary eyed more than once, and finished the book with a smile on my face.”
“I couldn’t put this story down. The story was heartbreakingly engaging. It made me cry in multiple places, but it also reinforces the resilience of the human spirit. I can’t recommend it enough!”

“I cried in all that Theresa went through as a child. I was so encouraged with how she rose above it all and I connected in living the life of forgiveness and chose to not stop loving and not be a victim in her life. Such courage and strength.”
“Amazing story of courage and selflessness!. Going to read more of this author’s work. A Job well done Ms. Dresback.”
“Great story line. Couldn’t put it door. It’s a must read. I highly recommend this book to others. Love it!!”
“Good story about love, second chances, family both accepting and non accepting to the point of abuse and child neglect. But mostly of having a heart to encourage others through a difficult time.”
“I could not put this down. What an amazing journey from start to finish- heartbreaking at times, enlightening, courageous, and so much more.”
“What a great story and how brave was Theresa. It must of been a relief that the adoptive parents were so lovely.”
“This is an uplifting story! It is told from a birth mother’s perspective but in an easy to understand, compassionate way. Forgiveness and love are exuded throughout the story.”
“Adoption today isn’t our parents secret but still no promise to the outcome. Even if given your dream of closure doesn’t mean everyone is willing to open old wounds. A lot depends on how the child was treated. Every story is different. If they didn’t live with loving parents then maybe they’d rather not open up as it might cause more grief. A question of why could someone explain giving me away to strangers who clearly didn’t want me but made sure my life wasn’t easy. Every story doesn’t have happy outcomes. Happy to see this story had loving people at every chapter in the child’s upbringing. I read this story in one sitting.”
“They is book was hard to put down, it was one you think about and can hardly wait to get back to. At times it was sad but also made me smile.”
“This is such an emotional roller-coaster and that I don’t even know where to start. Well worth the read!”
“A beautifully written book!! Won’t give away anything, just to say this is a ‘must read’. Enjoy.. I loved it, so emotional. Thank you Diane..”
“THIS book definitely has a different “feel” to it! Not that there isn’t pain and struggle at times for those things certainly existed. But the entire time I was reading this book I had an odd sense of peace; moreover, the sense that “God is here within this book, these circumstances, these people so it will turn out for the best.””
“I read this book as much as I could over 3 days, as I could not bring myself to put it down-I just had to find out what happened next! I was pulled into the main character’s (Theresa) nearly impossible experiences. The author did a lovely job of developing her characters and telling the harrowing story of Theresa’s life. I found myself moved to tears on multiple points in the story. It’s a poignant account of events based on real life, at a time in history when a young, unwed pregnant woman had very few, if any options. This book truly showcased the courageous spirit of this young woman that faced seemingly overwhelming life choices.”
“I enjoyed the story and find it amazing the mother was able to do so well with her life after such a terrible childhood. I am not sure where she got her values and the ability to get her education and make the many wise choices she made. Very good read.”
“Oh my goodness...this was an amazing and beautiful story. Theresa was such a strong, wonderful woman! I loved all of the characters! Definitely a must read! ❤”

“I read lots of books but this is up there as one of the best. In fact THE BEST!I can’t go into it too much as it would be a complete spoiler. It had me captivated from start to finish! Wow! Don’t hesitate to buy your own copy. You won’t regret it.”

“This book was very well written and it made you feel like you knew the characters in real life. As the mother of an adopted child, I can only dream of the day when my son would be able to meet his biological family”
“A lovely teerjerking story.”
“Theresa is asked to be interviewed by two teenagers for a high school writing assignment. In her story, Theresa reveals her struggles with an unexpected pregnancy. Her account is a fictionalized story based on the author’s biological mother’s life. Diane writes, about her own life with her loving adoptive parents and her search for and relationship with Theresa, her biological mother. The story is written from Theresa’s perspective. It is well written and flows smoothly. I will recommend this book and look forward to reading others by this author.”
“I can’t believe how great this author can write such a powerful story even as it is real. The way she presented the story it made you feel like you were right there as everything happen.”
“I read this based on a recommendation from my wife and was not disappointed. I’m an adoptee who can relate to so many of the emotions expressed in this book. The writing had me a bit confused at the outset, but shortly thereafter I realized what was going on. It was conceptually interesting in how the story is told, unique. I love the innocence of a time so long ago and its relevance to teenagers today. The characters and settings have a genuine feel to them that can only come from personal experience. I will also confess I had tears in my eyes at times. The positivity and selflessness of the main character are so refreshing. There is more I could say but I don’t want to spoil it in any way. To anyone who is considering this book, don’t hesitate. Buy it and enjoy a heartfelt story that resonates in many ways. You don’t have to be an adoptee, a birth, or an adoptive parent, to enjoy this book.”
“I could hardly put this book down! The characters were so compelling, the suspense and uncertainty of what was going to happen next kept me reading more. So many times throughout the book I felt I was in the room feeling the current situation or dilemma as if I were there! It is absolutely a story of a courageous path taken. Exposes well the complexity of the issues with an unwanted pregnancy in those years. A delightfully satisfying story to read. Enjoy it!”
“I truly enjoyed reading this story written as fictional but based on true events. I am interested especially in non fiction and biographies. I think it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there by sharing with the world, your most private details of your life. Being adopted has a special place in my heart, as I have heard from my husband what it meant for him to be adopted and to have been part of three families. If only he had gotten a chance to meet his biological mother and to hear her tell her story behind her decision. This book shares the amazing hardship women go through when faced with the decision to give up a child in hopes for the child to be placed in a better home situation with two loving parents. I cannot even imagine such a sacrifice. This book is a good portrayal of such, if you’ve ever wondered. What if the biological mother and the child that was given up at birth had the chance to meet? Should they take that chance and risk possibly complicating the lives of others? A decision I am glad that I personally never had to make. Thank you Diane for sharing your story with the world.”
“Wonderful story, expressed so honestly. I wanted to know Uncle Phil’s and Robby’s stories also. Theresa demonstrated her ability for love so eloquently and her strength in overcoming all her childhood losses and rejections.”
“I knew half way through that this book was going to be written by “Melissa” no one other than the actual birth mother or the adopted child could write with such gentleness and heart. Well done Diane both your mothers will be so proud xxx.”
“I have enjoyed all of Diane’s books but this one really warms the heart. It is such a display of God caring for the mom, the child, the incredible woman the child grows to be. I was so intrigued by this story.”
““Room For Another” is a delightful insight into the relationship and bond between mother and child. It is a truthful and sentimental tale of love between a mother and daughter who reconnect after several years of separation after adoption. The author cleverly pulls in third-party references with two journalists who are interviewing Theresa about her relationship between her mother she loved and lost and two different families intervening in the raising and upbringing of her during a tumultuous time in her life. The interviews during the story gives a clever introspection into Theresa‘s life as she was also a writer and journalist herself. A heavy-hearted decision to give up a daughter out of wedlock later unveils a path of rediscovery, truthfulness, and an unwavering love that cannot be separated by distance nor time. In a mother’s heart, there’s always room for more love and “room for another”.”
“The dynamics of Mother and Daughter relationships, whether born from birth or adopted, brings with it its own set of challenges. I am grateful for this author for sharing her life and her story with us all. It is never an easy thing to do to invite others into your privacy. I will never forget this story. I encourage others to read this book.”
“This story tells about a woman’s life and all the choices she made. It talks about decisions, hard decisions to make and live with. It also speaks of hope and kindness.”
“This was such an inspiring story and so well written. She lead such a difficult life growing up but was so kind and loving. She gave her baby a better life by letting her be adopted. She still loved her throughout her life. I would recommend this book. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.”
“Room For Another. by Diane M. Dresback.
What an amazing story …. This was a well written book with a bit of author licence to change a few facts to protect certain parts of the story. A story with the good and bad parts of what it was like for Theresa after her mother passed away and her life with her father after he remarried … the way she was treated … her giving her child up at birth …
Recommend this book highly ….”
“Sweet book. The older I get, the more I wish my birth mom would have tried to get in touch with me, like the sweet letter from the birth mom in this story. I was raised by great parents and have had a wonderful life, but I will always wonder about my birth mom. ❤️”
